GPFirst

Patients with mild to moderate conditions such as cough, runny nose or simple sprains are encouraged to seek timely medical treatment closer to home.

Under the GPFirst programme, patients who visit participating GP clinics and are assessed to require further treatment will be referred to:

  • Emergency Department (ED) of Changi General Hospital
  • Sengkang General Hospital
  • Singapore General Hospital
  • National University Hospital (Adult ED ONLY)
  • Ng Teng Fong General Hospital
  • Khoo Teck Puat Hospital
  • Tan Tock Seng Hospital
  • Alexandra Hospital Urgent Care Centre (UCC)
  • Urgent Care Centre @ Admiralty

Those with valid referrals from participating GP clinics will receive a $50 waiver on the prevailing attendance fee at any of the above healthcare institutions.

GPFirst is open to all residents living in Singapore, including PRs and foreigners.

How can I identify if a clinic participates in this programme?

All participating GPFirst clinics can be identified by the GPFirst decal on their clinic façade.

  1. The GPFirst programme is only applicable at Changi General Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, National University Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital emergency departments or Alexandra Urgent Care Centre (AH UCC) and Urgent Care Centre (UCC) @ Admiralty.
  2. The GPFirst Referral Form is only valid on the day of issue, and up to 0200hrs of the following day if the Referral Form is issued close to midnight (i.e., between 2200 and 0000hrs). Patients are advised to visit A&E/ UCC@Admiralty (as applicable) without delay.
  3. The referral date, time and clinic stamp must be clearly indicated on the original GPFirst Referral Form.
  4. The original GPFirst Referral Form must be produced together with the patient’s NRIC/ passport/ work permit pass during registration at A&E/ UCC@Admiralty (as applicable).
  5. Specialised investigations required and/or non-standardised medications prescribed at A&E/ UCC@Admiralty will be separately charged.
