Urology

The Department of Urology at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) originated from the Alexandra Hospital Urology Service and became the Division of Urology in 2011.

In 2012, it became the KTPH Department of Urology, providing comprehensive urological care for the population in the northern region of Singapore.

The amalgamation of all Urology services into our one-stop Urology Clinic in 2018 further cemented the Department's commitment towards patient-centric care.

Past Head of Departments
2012-2018: Dr Colin Teo
2028-2024: Dr Molly Eng

Our team has obtained subspecialty training in internationally renowned centres including United Kingdom, France, Egypt, Ireland, Italy and Australia in Uro-oncology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Endourology, Andrology and Men's Health, Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery, as well as Female, Functional Urology and Incontinence.

Being an accredited specialist-training centre for the NHG Urology Residency programme, excellence in care is a priority.

We are a referral centre and the first in Singapore to perform penile -preserving surgery (glansectomy, glans resurfacing) for penile cancers. We are highly regarded in buccal mucosal graft urethroplasties with multiple peer-reviewed publications and scientific conference presentations, and a referral centre for Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatments (MISTs) for the treatment of Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH).

We have a designated multidisciplinary Men’s Health clinic in conjunction with primary healthcare physicians, dieticians and physiotherapists. Under the Men’s Health clinic, we provide Low-intensity Shockwave therapy (Li-SWT) for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease and chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Our Andrologists also collaborate with KK Women and Children’s Hopsital to provide a conjoint Andrology clinic under the Reproductive Medicine department to manage men with subfertility. At the Complex Stone Clinic, we manage patients with recurrent and challenging urinary stone diseases. We also run a dedicated Reconstructive Urology clinic for patients with urinary incontinence, voiding and pelvic floor conditions.

We are committed to provide quality individualised care and work closely with our Department of Radiology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology to provide advanced evidence-based diagnostics and treatment for Uro-oncological conditions.

We have a strong interest in public education, holding annual educational forums for both the general public and primary healthcare physicians with healthy attendances and positive feedback garnered yearly.
