Public Sector Transformation Awards

Two of our Yishun Health Staff, Zarina Bte Kamis and Jackie Phang, have been honoured with the Exemplary SkillsFuture@ Public Service Award.

Ms Zarina Bte Kamis, Senior Staff Nurse, Community Nursing, PHCT, has been recognised for her adaptability to learn new skills and conduct video conferencing to monitor her patients' health during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also one of the pioneers of the Self-Managed Autonomous Regional Team (SMART).

Ms Jackie Phang, Manager, Visitor Management Services, has been recognised for her achievements in managing ward visitors despite rapidly evolving policy changes and complex requirements during the pandemic. Through this, Jackie continued to learn and upgrade herself through internal training courses and completed a certificate programme in Strategy Execution from Harvard Business School Online.

KTPH also received an Exemplary Innovator Award as part of a team with B.Braun and Republic Polytechnic for the Smart Inventory Monitoring Rack (SIMR).

May Day Awards

This year, Yishun Health celebrates with Senior Nurse Clinician, Foo Meow Ling as she brings home the Model Worker Award.

This award is given to workers who have shown readiness and resilience in the face of transformation, initiating productivity improvements and being adaptable to changing work environments through improving their skills.

Sister Meow Ling's involvement in implementing Infection Control measures during COVID-19 helped Yishun Health stay afloat during the peak of the pandemic. Enforcing new and clear workflows, conducting mask-fitting and PPE training sessions, upskilling and reskilling various staff to be confident swabbers are just some of the many valuable contributions she has made to the campus.

Distinguished Contributor Award

Ms Wan Wen Yi, one of KTPH's Clinical Research Coordinator, has been recognised with a Finalist Award at the 2022 Distinguished Contributor Award for Clinical Research Coordinators.

This award honours the people who embody the spirit of research and innovation to achieve better outcomes for our patients.

National Awards (COVID-19) 2022

Congratulations to 181 of Yishun Health heros who are among the National Awards recipients this year.

The awards recognise individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to Singapore's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tan Chin Tuan Nursing Award

Ms Ismanina Bte Ibrahim, Principal Enrolled Nurse, KTPH won the merit prize at the 16th Tan Chin Tuan Nursing Award for Enrolled Nurses 2022.

As a nurse at cardio ward, Ismanina proved herself to be an exemplary role model to staff and junior nurses. She has received numerous compliments for her nurturing demeanor and patience in guiding new staff throughout her nursing career of 14 years.

Community Chest Charity Gold Award

Yishun Health was conferred the Charity Gold Award at the annual Community Chest Awards Ceremony which was held at the Istana on 1 November 2022.

The award recognises organisations who have made significant contributions to Community Chest through its monthly giving programme.

Labour Movement U Safe Champion Award

Mr Zaqy Mohamad, Minister of State, Ministry of National Development & Ministry of Manpower presented the award to Sr Foo Meow Ling, Yishun Health's HSEU Chairman at the award ceremony.

Conferred by NTUC, the award recognises unions, unionised companies or business partners who have been proactive in championing progressive workplace practices and creating safer and healthier workplaces for workers.

National Safety and Security Watch Group - Outstanding Individual Award

Yishun Health achieved the Outstanding Individual Award at the National Safety and Security Watch Group Award Ceremony 2022.

This award recognises members at the national level for their collaboration with the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force to enhance the security levels of their workplaces.

Public Sector Transformation Award

Mdm Chia Kwee Lee has been awarded Exemplary Service Excellence Award for her extraordinary commitment in upholding safety and service standards in the public healthcare sector these past 20 years.

Driven by her passion for service excellence, Mdm Chia played a key role in enhancing the patient journey at Yishun Health's Specialist Outpatient Clinics. She was instrumental in leading transformation of services during the early part of COVID-19 pandemy so that critical patients continued to receive the best of care.

Heartiest congratulations to Ms Su Jialei on winning the Merit Award and Ms Qi Xiaoge on winning the Finalist Award.

The Distinguished Contributor Award for Clinical Research Coordinators recognises outstanding Clinical Research Coordinators and their significant contributions to the profession and community. Clinical Research Coordinators play a vital role in supporting research investigation and building a collaborative ecosystem for the execution of quality clinical research.

Patient Action Awards

The Singapore Patient Engagement Initiative Award (Team-Based) was conferred to Yishun Health's S.A.F.E (Stimulating Activities for Frail Elderly) programme in recognition of their efforts to keep elderly patients physically active and socially connected. The award is part of the Singapore Patient Action Awards 2021.

Tan Chin Tuan Nursing Award For Enrolled Nurses

KTPH enrolled nurse Ms K Vasantha Devi from General Medicine Specialist Outpatient Clinic is one of this year's Tan Chin Tuan awardees. Her dedication, empathy, kindness and generosity has earned her commendations from patients and her colleagues. Her belief in continuous learning has propelled her to become a very capable enrolled nurse - the first EN qualifed to work in the Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy clinic. She shows her care for patients by treating them like loved ones. The patients' warm smiles are what compel her to keep on going in her 31 years career.

Community In Bloom Awards

KTPH and YCH rooftop gardens both received this year's Community in Bloom Platinum Awards as well as the inaugural Garden of the Year Awards (GOYA), along with the Outstanding Community Engagement Garden Achievement Ribbon.

The GOYA recognises outstanding community gardens with horticultural and design excellence, high level of community engagement, as well as educational and outreach quality.

This double achievement is a testament of Yishun Health's dedication to care for the community and the environment.

Ann Wee NUS Social Work Alumni Award

The WHC project successfully completed one million man-hours of safe construction.

Ms Jenny Goh, Deputy Head, Medical Social Services, Yishun Health, received the Ann Wee NUS Social Work Alumni Award. This award recognises NUS Social Work alumnus who have made major contributions to social work education and practice.

Yishun Health was conferred the Charity Gold Award at the annual Community Chest Awards Ceremony. This award recognises organisations with employees on SHARE for their high donation rate to Community Chest.

Human City Design Award

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital's Population Health & Community Transformation (PHCT) team won a Human City Design Award. This year the award had 75 entries from 25 countries internationally.

The Human City Design Award recognises PHCT's good work in establishing three Wellness Kampungs in Yishun, designing spaces for senior residents to bond and support one another in the community.

Asian Elderly Care Awards (AECA) 2019

Yishun Health under National Healthcare Group received 5 awards during the inaugural Asian Elderly Care Awards in January 2019. They are:

Ms Shirley Heng, Deputy Chief Nurse, KTPH and Yishun Health has been awarded the President's Award for Nurses 2018. The award is the highest accolade in the nursing profession, recognising outstanding nurses who have made significant contributions to patient care, education, leadership, research and administration.

NTUC May Day Awards

Mrs Chew Kwee Tiang, CEO of KTPH and Yishun Health, was conferred the Medal of Commendation at the annual NTUC May Day Awards Ceremony, which was held in conjunction with Labour Day.

The award recognises individual leaders and organisations for their outstanding contributions to workers in Singapore.

Yishun Health also received the inaugural Innovative Breakthrough Award in recognition of significant and innovative breakthrough initiatives that have impacted the lives of workers.

Healthcare Humanity Award

Healthcare Humanity Award is a continuing legacy of the Courage Awards that was first given out to selfless healthcare workers during the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003.
