General

Q. Why do you keep asking me about my NRIC number/address and if I have drug allergy every time I come? Don’t you already have my records in your system?
A. This is to help us correctly identify you and your prescription as well as your drug allergies so as to ensure the accuracy and safety of issuing your medicines to you.

Q. What are your opening hours?
A. Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 7.00pm, Saturday: 8.30am to 2pm

Q. Why do I have to pay for plastic bags?
A. Our hospital believes in doing our part for the environment. Reducing plastic bag consumption is one of the ways. Therefore, we encourage our patients to either refuse or reuse plastic bags or bring their own bags from home. The money collected from the sale of the plastic bags will be used for gardening and tree planting to support our hospital’s environmental efforts.

Collection of Medicines

Q. What do I need to collect my medicines from the Pharmacy?
A. Your prescription, as it is a legal requirement for a prescription to be presented before medicines can be supplied.

Do take note that: A prescription is valid for up to one year from the date of issue. Medicines can only be supplied within this time period. You may nominate a representative to collect your medicines on your behalf provided they produce a valid prescription and are able to correctly provide verifications or your Identification Card number of home address as listed on the prescription.

Q. Can I fax my prescription so that it can be prepared for me in advance?
A. You may fax your prescription to 6758 0860 for advance preparation. This will reduce your wait time at the Pharmacy. Upon arrival at the Pharmacy, please approach the reception counter for a queue number. We will dispense your medicines to you as soon as possible.

Payment

Q. Can I use Medisave to pay for my medicines?
A. You may use your Medisave to pay for your medicines provided you have signed and activated the use of our Medisave for the 6 approved Chronic Diseases as listed by the Ministry of Health. Please proceed to the clinic to sign up for Medisave activation. Our clinic staff would be happy to assist you.

Q. I will collect all my medicines today. Can you bill it to my home?
A. We regret that we do not offer post-billing of medicines. All medicines purchased at our pharmacy require upfront payment. You may consider filling your prescription at a later date instead.

Q. My company is paying for my medicines. Can you bill it to my company directly?
A. In order for the pharmacy to bill your medicines to your company, please produce a Letter of Guarantee issued by your company to state that it is appropriate for our pharmacy to send you bills to them. In the event that you are unable to produce such formal acknowledgement letter from your company, you will need to make payment at the pharmacy. You may then make a claim for your medicines from your company with your receipt.

Drug Allergy

Q. What is a drug allergy?
A. drug allergy occurs when there is an undesirable reaction to a medication that is caused by the body’s immune system reacting to it. The medication is viewed as a chemical ‘invader’ and this undesirable reaction is called a hypersensitivity reaction.

Q. What are the signs and symptoms of a drug allergy?
A. Rashes, itchiness, difficulty in breathing and/or swollen eyes/lips.

Q. What should I do if I experience a drug allergy?
A. Stop the medicines and see the nearest doctor immediately. Inform your doctor which medicine(s) you were taking and what the allergic symptoms that you experienced were and the time and frequency at which the allergic symptoms were presented.

Costs of Medicines

Q. If I buy these medicines at other pharmacies, would it be the same price?
A. The price of medicines at different pharmacies varies. You may consider enquiring the price of the medicines at the various pharmacies before making a decision where to fill your prescriptions.

Q. I am a subsidized patient in polyclinic. Are my medicines still under subsidy here?
A. Subsidy applies only to same institution prescriptions. To enjoy the subsidized rates of medicines that you are entitled to in the polyclinic, you would need to fill your prescriptions at the polyclinic pharmacy.

Q. I am a senior citizen. Do I enjoy a discount for my medicines?
A. Our pharmacy does not offer senior citizen discount. However, we do pride ourselves in providing you with medicines at competitive prices.

Refund Issues

Q. My doctor has discontinued my medicines, can I refund my medicines?
A. All medicines and goods sold at our pharmacy are non-refundable.

Q. My medicines are all in good conditions. Why is a refund not allowed?

To ascertain that all patients receive only the best possible quality, we regret to inform that we do not accept any exchanges or refund of all our medicines.
