Rotation to Department of General Medicine

The Department of General Medicine in KTPH has retained its traditional strength in broad-based clinical medicine. Our distinguished teaching faculty and long history of teaching excellence will ensure that PGY1 trainees receive outstanding training which includes evidence-based, independent and critical thinking to aid clinical decision-making in patient care.

Rotation to Department of Surgery

Rotation to the Department of Surgery introduces PGY1 trainees to a wide variety of cases in colorectal, hepatobilliary, bariatric and endocrine surgery as well as advanced laparoscopic surgery. Through structured teaching and academic activities, this rotation gives PGY1 trainees the solid foundation that forms the core of good surgical training. PGY 1 trainees will be given opportunities to acquire surgical skills and experience through a supervised hands-on approach.

Rotation to Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

The Orthopaedic Surgery rotation offers the experience of a multidisciplinary approach to orthopaedic care. PGY1 trainees will be given progressive responsibility for the care of patients under the supervision of dedicated faculty members with special emphasis placed on the understanding of the inter-related sub-facets of orthopaedic care. PGY1 trainees will also attain good grounding in the areas of geriatric medicine (ortho-geriatrics) and rehabilitation physiotherapy which are important components of orthopaedic training.
