CLINICAL RESEARCH
Dr. Anton Cheng is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Surgery. As the Deputy Director of the hospital's Weight Management Programme, he is involved in bariatric surgery and has an interest in advance laparoscopic surgery. His main research interest includes morbid obesity related topics and metabolic diseases. 
A/Prof Tan Kok Yang is the Head of Department of Surgery. He specializes in Colorectal Cancer Surgery and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery with a special interest in low rectal cancers and sphincter-preserving surgery. He strongly believes in surgical innovations and progressive research. His research works are well published in numerous international peer-reviewed journals. He has also written 4 book chapters on colorectal surgery and published a number of editorials in international colorectal surgery journals. His other passion includes the improvement of surgical outcomes in geriatric patients and is actively involved in projects and research on geriatric patients.   

Adj. Asst. Prof Eugene Yang is the Head of the Division of Neurosurgery in the Department of Surgery. His research interest is in the area of brain and spine, especially involvement in multinational multi-centers research trials. He is currently venturing into research and design of new instruments and prosthesis for brain and spine surgery.
Adj Assistant Professor R. M. Singaporewalla currently a Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department and specialises in minimally invasive General Surgery and Endocrine Surgery. 
His clinical research interests are in the field of minimally invasive thyroid surgery, role of calcium & vitamin D in post total thyroidectomy hypocalcemia, and role of skin camouflage of neck scars in patients' quality of life.
Adj. Asst. Prof R. M. Singaporewalla is currently a Senior Consultant in the Department of Surgery. As the Head of the Endocrine Surgical Service, he specializes in minimally invasive General Surgery and Endocrine Surgery. His clinical research interests are in the field of minimally invasive thyroid surgery, role of calcium & vitamin D in post total thyroidectomy hypocalcemia, and role of skin camouflage of neck scars in patients' quality of life.
