Alexandra Health Enabling Grant (AHEG) is designed to support pilot research studies to accumulate preliminary data for competitive grants. This grant will provide a maximum of $10.7K (inclusive of GST) for one year.

AHEG will not support projects primarily intended for the development of clinical services.

For projects with an “innovation” or “prototyping” orientation, investigators are advised to direct their proposal to Rapid Prototyping Grant (RPG) managed by Innovation Department.

The RISE scheme is designed to complement current institutional and departmental efforts in providing support for Clinician-Scientist by funding a portion (either 20% or 40%) of the clinician’s salary commensurate with his/her time spent in research. RISE will be funded for a maximum period of 2 years.

The Science - Translational & Applied Research (STAR) I is a short-term grant designed to support clinical and transalational research that answer specific, targeted research questions or to perform pilot or feasibility studies. it is designed to support small start-up exploratory studies that may provide preliminary findings for larger research proposals. This grant is open to KPTH staff only

Duration of Programme: 2 Years 
Grant Funding: Up to $100,000 per grant


Grant proposals with translational and applied research aspects, and make contribution towards building up of research infrastructure and capability at KTPH, will be viewed favorably.

The Science - Translational & Applied Research (STAR) II is a follow-on grant offered to successfully completed STAR I projects based on merit to encourage continuing translation of research into patient care. STAR II is open to KTPH applicants only.

Duration of Programme: Up to 3 Years 
Grant Funding: Up to $600,000


Grant proposals with translational and applied research aspects, and make contribution towards building up of research infrastructure and capability at KTPH, will be viewed favorably.

The KTPH Research Scholarship, formerly known as Clinician Leadership in Research (CLR) programme, aims to groom and nurture aspiring researchers who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in research. The KTPH Research Scholarship is now open to Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

The programme consists of 3 components: 

1. Mentorship 
Guidance and support from experienced researchers involved in research with significant impact on clinical care.

2. Training 
64 hours of fully sponsored training consisting of:

 •  48 hours compulsory modules from NHG (below)

Biostatistics Course (Basic & Intermediate)
Research Preparatory & Study Design Workshop
Informed Consent and Documentation in a Clinical Trial Seminar
Subject Recruitment & Follow-up and Safety Reporting Seminar
Manuscripting Writing and Poster Presentation
Grant Writing and Management Seminar


 •  16 hours unrestricted electives on any research related module (subject to CRU approval) 

3. Funding
 •  Seed Funding : $10,000 over 2 years
 •  Academic Funding (e.g. books): $1000 for 2 years

Eligibility: 

Doctors

Residents/Registrars, Associate Consultants and above who are fully registered in Singapore.

Nurses

Nurses with degree qualification and fully registered in Singapore.

Allied Health Professionals

Allied health professionals with degree qualification and fully registered in Singapore.

Applicants must be recommended by HOD for application.
