The purpose of Alexandra Health Institutions’ Nursing Services is to ensure that each patient receives professional nursing care that is patient-centred and goal directed, and to support health care education and research in nursing and other disciplines.
Patients in the Alexandra Health Institutions are taken care by the same group of nurses from day to day. Our model of nursing practice encompasses the concepts of collaboration, decision-making, accountability and continuity.
We also utilise Clinical Pathways which are multidisciplinary plans of best clinical practice for specified groups of patients with a particular diagnosis that aid the coordination and delivery of high quality care. Clinical Pathways are utilised by a multidisciplinary team and have a focus on quality and coordination of care.
