Alexandra Health System

Alexandra Health System

Alexandra Health offers multi-disciplinary and holistic care for the patient's total well-being. Established on 1 April 2008, we are a healthcare cluster in the north that currently manages the 590-bed Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. As part of an integrated healthcare system to serve the community in the region, Alexandra Health system will build and oversee the Yishun Community Hospital, Admiralty Medical Centre and an Woodlands Integrated Health Campus. This integrated healthcare network will be operational from end December 2015 to 2022.

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), a 590-bed general and acute care hospital, opened in June 2010. KTPH combines medical expertise with high standards of personalised care, set within a healing environment, to provide care that is good enough for our own loved ones. From intuitive wayfinding to logical clustering of services, KTPH's design is focused on providing a hassle-free experience for patients.

Yishun Community Hospital

Yishun Community Hospital (YCH), which will open progressively from 2015, will cater to the sub-acute and rehabilitation needs of patients in the North. The community hospital, with 428 beds, will provide intermediate care for convalescing patients who do not require the intensive care services of an acute-care hospital. YCH will serve the community in the north, where patients can benefit from the integration of the two hospitals in terms of physical proximity, information flow and treatment plans.

Woodlands Integrated Health Campus

The Woodlands Integrated Health Campus will be an integrated healthcare facility that will include an acute hospital, a community hospital and a nursing home. The hospital will serve the anticipated increase in demand for healthcare services in the northern region of Singapore, as our population grows and ages. In line with our vision and mission to better take care of the population in the North, this facility will be the first of the four new acute hospitals which the Ministry of Health had earlier announced that it would build. The new hospital will be located along Woodlands Drive 17, opposite Christ Church Secondary School. The site is easily accessible by SLE and BKE, and will also be within walking distance to the future Woodlands South MRT station.

The acute and community hospitals and nursing home will provide some 1,800 beds in total. The development is targeted to open progressively from 2022.

Admiralty Medical Centre

Located in the Admiralty neighbourhood, the Admiralty Medical Centre will enable residents to have easy access to these high-quality healthcare services right at their door-step:

  • Day Surgery and Endoscopy
  • Diagnostic Radiology
  • General Surgery
  • Laboratory Medicine
  • General Medicine
  • Opthalmology (Eye)
  • Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, Throat)
  • Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Urology

Ready in 2017, community nurses and other healthcare professionals will use the centre as a base to reach out and care for the chronic disease patients, engaging them to better manage their conditions. The proximity of care is especially beneficial to the elderly and home-bound residents in the neighbourhood.

Being in the heart of the community, the centre will be able to actively involve residents, assessing their health and helping them adopt healthy lifestyle habits.

Sembawang Primary Care Centre

Singapore's first Primary Care Centre, Sembawang Primary Care Centre, will be built in Sembawang Community Hub. The centre will be located close to facilities like a sports complex and a hawker centre so as to provide a one-stop service for residents. The centre will be a test bed for new care models and care processes, and will be managed by Alexandra Health System.
