Alexandra Health System is a public healthcare cluster formed in 2008 to serve the medical needs of the residents living in the northern part of Singapore. We currently manage Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun, and are building the Yishun Community Hospital and Woodlands Medical Centre. These new facilities will open in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Khoo Teck Puat Hospital
Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), a 590-bed general and acute care hospital, opened in June 2010. KTPH combines medical expertise with high standards of personalised care, set within a healing environment, to provide care that is good enough for our own loved ones. From intuitive wayfinding to logical clustering of services, KTPH’s design is focused on providing a hassle-free experience for patients.
Yishun Community Hospital
Yishun Community Hospital (YCH), opening in 2015, will cater to the sub-acute and rehabilitation needs of patients in the North. The 428-bed YCH will relieve acute care resources at KTPH and enable a more seamless and faster transfer of patients from acute to step-down care. YCH, sited next to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, is slated to open by end 2015. The 428-bed community hospital will provide intermediate care for convalescing patients who do not require the intensive care services of an acute-care hospital. YCH will serve the community in the north, where patients can benefit from the integration of the two hospitals in terms of physical proximity, information flow and treatment plans. In this way, the patient’s recovery will be a well-coordinated, hassle-free experience.
Woodlands Medical Centre
Woodlands Medical Centre (WMC) is part of an integrated, mixed-use development that will be built next to Admiralty MRT station. WMC aims to be a one-stop diagnostic and treatment centre, providing outpatient specialist, rehabilitation and diagnostic services to residents in the north, when it opens in 2016.
