Guide to Hospital Charges

We know that financial matters can be complicated and difficult to understand. This brochure is specially prepared to provide you with information on hospital charges and billing processes.

Our financial counselors would give you the estimated cost of hospitalization. We will do our best in providing you with the ward type of your choice. However, availability of the ward type can only be confirmed on the day of your admission.

Hospital Charges for Outpatients

Consultation Fee: Private Subsidised

Visit will be treated as first consultation if
a)   patient has been discharged.
b)   the last visit has lapsed by more than 12 months.

  • Consultation fee charges listed exclude joint consultation fees.
  • Long consultation charges apply where necessary.
  • For private patients, charges are inclusive of GST. Charges may differ for Singapore citizens, permanent residents, resident foreigners and non-residents.      
  • Fees are subjected to change without prior notice.

Outpatients will be classified as private or subsidised patients based on the following terms:

1. You will be classified as a private patient if your first visit is via:

  • Self-Referral or Walk-in
  • Referral letter from General Practitioner (GP)
  • Referral letter from a Private Hospital
  • Referral letter from a Restructured Hospital under private status and/or specifying a consultant by name
  • Referral letter from a Polyclinic and specifying a consultant by name
  • Industrial Accident
  • Discharge from inpatient class A or B1

 All resident foreigners and non-residents will be classified as private patients.

 2. You will be classified as a subsidised patient if your first visit is via:

  • Referral letter from a Restructured Hospital under subsidised status, A&E, Polyclinic or SAF without specifying a specialist by name
  • Discharge from inpatient class B2 or C without specifying a specialist by name

 Subsidy is only applicable for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, who are not existing private patients for the same medical condition.

 Hospital Charges for Emergency Services

 ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY
Attendance Fee $85
  • This fee covers basic investigations, procedures, drugs and x-ray services. Specialised emergency investigations can involve additional charges.

At Khoo Teck Puat Hospital

You can pay at Patient Service Centre Lobby at Level 1 during operating hours from 8.30am to 8.00pm, Mondays to Fridays and 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturdays. If you are intending to pay your bills after operating hours, you may also do so at our Accident & Emergency department which operates 24 hours daily.

 Alternatively, you may use any of the following methods to pay your bills:

 (1) Cheque

Cheque should be crossed and made payable to “ALEXANDRA HEALTH PTE LTD”. Please fill in your cheque information in the CHEQUE/CREDIT CARD PAYMENT SLIP at the bottom of our invoice, detach along the perforated line, attach with your cheque and mail to us.

 (2) Credit Card

Please provide your credit card information in the CHEQUE/CREDIT CARD PAYMENT SLIP at the bottom of our invoice, detach along the perforated line and mail to us.

 (3) SingPost Branches

Payment by cash, cashcard, credit card, cheque and NETS are accepted. For locations and operating hours, you may call 1605 or refer to the list of post offices here.

 (4) 7-Eleven Stores

Payment by cash, cashcard and NETS are accepted. For store locations, please log on to the 7-Eleven website and key in the street or estate name under the Locate Store icon to start search. 

 5) Self-Service Automated Machine (SAM)

Payment by NETS only. Click here for SAM machine locations and operating hours.

 6) AXS Station

Payment by NETS, Diners, Citibank VISA and Master cards are accepted. You may log on to the AXS website and key in the street or estate name under the Locate a Station icon and click on search.

 7) iNETS Kiosk

Payment by NETS, cashcard and flashpay cards are accepted.
